Terms and Conditions


The Artist must be the owner and the work(s) submitted are of their own origination. The Artist must hold all moral and intellectual property rights.


The Artist confirms that he/she is of full age and has every right to contract in his/her own name. Parent/Guardian signature required if Secret Artist is under 18 years of age.

The Artist accepts that all work submitted will be available for sale in the exhibition for £20, with all proceeds going to NCT B.A.B.I.E.S.  The Artist will receive no payment from the sale. 
Any artwork not sold over the course of the exhibition will be available to buy on the website for a limited period. If The Artist wishes to have unsold artwork returned, they must contact Secret Art Basingstoke.

By entering work, The Artist agrees to be contacted at any point by Secret Art Basingstoke. Please ensure you provide us with correct email addresses and telephone numbers, and notify us should this change.


The Artist can submit up to 3 different artworks, of any visual medium, including but not limited to paintings, drawings, photographs, cartoons, collages and original prints.


Each artwork must be submitted either on A6 or 4x6 card.

Artwork submitted must be available for sale.

Artwork may be submitted by post to C/O Lindsey Lawman, 53 Winchester Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 8UL, or dropped off at THAT Gallery, The Willis Museum, or The Creation Space in the collection boxes provided at reception. A hardcopy of the completed submission form must accompany the artwork. If you have completed the online registration form, your contact details (including your Paypal receipt number if you have one) must also be included. This is to confirm the identity of The Artist submitting the work. 


The registration fee of £2.00 is not a requirement of entry, but a suggestion donation. Any entries without an accompanying registration fee will still be eligible for inclusion in the exhibition.


Artwork must be received by the stated deadline. Any artwork received after that deadline may not be included in the exhibition. 


While every attempt will be made to accommodate all Artists, submission of art does not guarantee inclusion in the show.  Secret Art Basingstoke reserves the right to exclude submitted artwork from the exhibition. Reasons pertaining to (but not excluding) public decency.

Please note that we do not offer refunds for entries. 


The organisers will not be liable for any loss or damage to any artwork however caused, either in transit to and from the exhibition, or during any period of storage, packing or unpacking, exhibition or in any period in which the work is in their keeping.


We recommend that The Artist takes out insurance to cover the artwork, especially in transit and while at the organisers or sponsors premises.  



The copyright of the artwork remains the property of The Artist.

By donating your artwork, you give Secret Art Basingstoke and its legal representatives, agents, and affiliates the right to use your artwork in promotional and marketing materials. This includes press/website/catalogue and any other printed or digital material advertising this exhibition and future exhibitions.

The Artist accepts that all work submitted to the exhibition will also be entered into The People's Choice Award. The artwork(s) voted by the public to win The People's Choice Award will be used as visuals for the NCT B.A.B.I.E.S charity Christmas card 2018. All proceeds from the sale of the Christmas cards will go to NCT B.A.B.I.E.S, and The Artist will receive no payment from this. 


The Artist waives any right that he/she may have to inspect or approve Secret Art Basingstoke, or the advertising copy or printed matter that may be used in connection with, or the use to which it may be applied.

The Artist releases, discharges, and agrees to hold Secret Art Basingstoke, its legal representatives, and all persons acting under its permission or authority, or those for whom it is acting, from any liability by virtue of any unintentional alterations (including, but not limited to blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form) that may occur or be produced in the taking of said artwork image(s) or in any subsequent processing or publication.
