Who can submit artwork to Secret Art Basingstoke? We welcome submissions from professional artists, illustrators, tattoo artists, celebrities, community members, students, dignitaries, everyone is welcome to submit! Submissions from minors (under the age of 18) must have a Parent/Guardian signature on the Artist Entry Form.
What type of art may I submit? You are welcome to submit drawings, paintings, doodles, collages, photographs, words of wisdom - the only limit is your imagination. Each piece must be an original work, have an original artist signature on the back, and be on 4x6 or A6 card. You are welcome to use your own materials, or we can send you an art pack, which contains an SAE, an A6 postcard (bright white, 300gsm, matt finish) and a hard copy of the registration form.
How many pieces may I submit? Some artists may choose to donate one piece to Secret Art Basingstoke, while others chose to submit several individual pieces. We kindly ask you limit your submissions to three pieces.
What is the submissions deadline? Friday 13th July 2018.
Do I still own the rights to my artwork(s)? Yes. You still own the copyright to your work. By donating your artwork, you give Secret Art Basingstoke the right to use your artwork in promotional and marketing materials. This includes press/website/catalogues and any other printed or digital material advertising this exhibition and future exhibitions. All artwork submitted to the exhibition will also be entered into The People's Choice Award. The artwork(s) voted by the public to win The People's Choice Award will be used as the NCT B.A.B.I.E.S charity Christmas card 2018..
How long can my biography be? Our buyers will want to know who you are – part of the fun is discovering each Secret Artist’s identity! Please limit your biography to a maximum of 200 words. Please note that Secret Art Basingstoke reserves the right to edit bios for length and content.
What is the best way to get my artwork(s) to Secret Art Basingstoke? There are several ways to submit your art to us:
1. Post your pieces ℅ Lindsey Lawman, 53 Winchester Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 8UL.
2.Drop it off at THAT Gallery, The Willis Museum or The Creation Space during their regular opening hours.
To ensure the quality of your art, do not wrap the pieces in anything with printing on it – we don’t want the ink to transfer to your art in the post. If possible, please use a hardback envelope.
What happens to remaining art pieces after the exhibition? Any work which remains unsold after the 4th August will be available to buy on the Secret Art Basingstoke website. If an artist would like their piece returned, please contact Secret Art Basingstoke for more information.
How do I get tickets to the Secret Art Basingstoke launch? You and your friends are welcome to join us to view the entire collection on 19th July. Corporate and General Admission tickets are available via the NCT booking page now.
